How to Shake Hands Properly
There are few things that take place that have been in a workplace setting to have been given more thought than a good firm handshake. Too soft and one can come off as a weak, passive person, too hard and people will start to wonder why this meat head is crushing their hand. For this reason it is important to master the proper grip and form for a professional handshake. The following will outline the accepted form and process to perform a handshake.
1. Hold out one's right parallel to the ground at about the height of the belly button toward the person the handshake is intended for.
2. Hold an open hand out with the fingers together and the thumb facing up.
Note: Make sure that your palm is dry and clean to perform a handshake.
3. Reach to the hand of the other participant and clasp hands with the two palms together.
4. Apply a firm but gentle squeeze and at the same time "shake" or move hands downward about an inch or so. One time.
5. Release the other person's hand and continue conversing.
Note: Do not wipe hand or appear displeased as this will offend or make the other person uncomfortable.

Instructions for Being a Leader
Across all jobs and all professions, several traits can come in handy and progress you further in the workplace. Quite possibly, the most important is leadership. Every upper level position requires that one leads employees and direct a company or division. Leadership can be a tricky thing to master as there is a thin line between leading and being a bossy supervisor. It is hard to wake up and just be a great leader, so the following will illustrate ways to improve one's leadership skills.

Learn How One Fits Into Being a Leader
Encourage Others
Not everyone is made to get in front of a crowd and spout off everything that needs to be said in fornt of a group. Sometimes is is needed that a supervisor put his head down and knock out some work while also setting a positive example for the rest of the office. People have different leadership styles and because of this, every person needs to learn and embrace how they best make a positive impact on someone.
Everyone needs to feel like their ideas are useful and helpful to motivate others to work hard and share with others. Along with encouragement, it is important in general to be positive. No one would like to work and make their boss look good if their boss is always negative and bashing employees. People will more likely to share and contribute and thus lead to them being more satisfied at work.
Communicate Effectively
Miscommunication can be the downfall in anything from lunch plans to job positions. Leaders need to be well versed in dealing with problems and effectively communicating a solution. This includes face to face communication, but also means things like emails. Email messages can be misinterpreted easily so be careful not to be misunderstood in a meeting. It is important that leaders convey their message in any medium of communication. A leader needs to show concern and appreciation for others.
Responsibility
Responsibilty is a key characteristic in any position of leadership. A supervisor must make sure they always keep a commitment. Leaders must be reliable and dependable for their employees and to set a prime example for them. the group or organization will be responsive if a leader is equally committed to them as they are to him. Also, it is helpful for a leader to show personal interest rather than keeping a distance. This not only sets the tone for the office but it also keeps things productive.
