TYING A WINDSOR KNOT

1. First, wrap the tie around your neck with the wide end of the necktie hanging at least twice as long as the thin end.

3. Pull the wide end to the other side of the thin end and back up through the loop so that the label is facing out.

5. Bring the wide end up through the loop and back down through the loop created in step 4 to make the knot.

2. Cross the wide end over the thinner end; bring the wide end up throught the loop created by crossing the two ends and pull it back down.

4. Pull the wide end across from right to left.

6. Pull the wide end down carefully to tighten the knot.

7. While holding the narrow end, pull the knot up toward your neck.

Notes:

Avoid a loose knot or short tie for this will cause embarassment for the wearer.

Do not get frustrated, as a proper knot can take several attempts for even the experienced knot-tier.
